With green and red stickers on the map of Maun we keep track of the wards that are known to us and the wards we still have to vist.  

A very welcome gift of nice, warm blankets for the cold winter months from June to September.

An elderly is busy making a bracelet, one of the many activities that can be done at the centre.

We are excited about the development of the new building for elderly who don’t have a house of who are not safe at the place where they live.

Thanks to lots of contributions in food and money the year ended happily with a festive Christmas lunch and a Christmas parcel for all 136 elderly.

A great thank you to Belmond Safaris, Dumela Botswana, People’s Tree, Safari Destinations and Shariff, who donated blankets and clothes to help the elderly through these very cold winter months.

Hartelijk dank aan Robyn en Gareth van Walk Botswana Safaris voor het sponsoren van nutri porridge voor de ouderen in Gabamocha. Vanwege de hoge waterstanden was het een hele avontuurlijke tocht voor de vrijwilligers van Polokong om de porridge af te leveren!

The day care centre is open again. We are all so delighted!!!

Petra Strydom form Blue Butterfly has donated trees and also plants them for free!  It will take some time, but one day the elderly will sit in the shade of this morula tree.

Thank you so much, management team, training and HR department of Okavango Air Rescue for the free first aid training you gave the Polokong volunteers. What a wonderful gift. And thank you Hilary from Hilary’s Coffeeshop for the free cakes…
